THIN AIR (featured in image) - Available: April 1, 2005

Emcompassing all four elements of The North Face’s motto, "innovative, technological, premier and authentic," Thin Air is an extremely technical and innovative new addition to the Expedition Tech category.

Thin Air’s features include:

    • Fast change lens system/interchangeable internal frame - To interchange the lenses, the internal frame is removed. This way, the consumer does not have to touch the lenses, which helps to avoid scratching the lenses and getting them dirty.
    • Small air vents in the lens to help avoid fogging
    • Syncro 3-D nosepiece designed to give the user a perfect fit - It is the first nosepiece that features a self-centering movement of two arms. Adjusting one arm, the user can easily adjust the nosepiece in every direction to achieve perfect fit and comfort.
    • Soft peripheral protection shield - To assure complete protection from light and wind, Thin Air is equipped with a soft peripheral shield. It is made of rubber, covered with a light layer of foam, which allows comfort around the face and protection from the elements. This piece clips into place and is removable.
    • Integra Temples - Integra is the only existing system where the elastic is integrated into the temples. This feature allows the user to attach the glasses to their head with the integrated headband.
    • Clipable frame – Integrated into the design, this feature creates the ability to clip prescription lenses into the frame.
    • Anti-fog

Thin Air comes in a pack with 2 additional interchangeable lenses and the side protection shield for $200 retail. A polarized version with side protection shields is $200 retail and a single pair with grey lens and side protection shield is $170 retail.
